Having been left kicking their heels after Saturday’s heavy rain saw the postponement of their fixture at Daisy Hill due to a waterlogged pitch Heys will hope for improved conditions when they travel to Garstang on Wednesday night (7.45pm)
After successive wins over Winsford and West Didsbury, in the Macron Cup and Lancashire Challenge Trophy, Heys were anxious to get their League ambitions back on track as they seek promotion from North West Counties League Division One North.
Jon Lyons and Matt Barnes’ side are currently tenth in the table but are just five points off the top four spots which automatically guarantee a step upto the Premier Division this season.
Garstang, made a disastrous start to the season but since Richard Cookney came in as Manager they have made steady progress, climbing off the bottom of the table to move upto 12th spot.
With wins in their last two games over Atherton LR (League) and Stockport Town (Cup) they will enter the game looking for a win which would take them within a point of Heys.
