Heys head over the Pennines on Saturday to face Steeton (3pm)
After two successive postponements Matt Barnes is still waiting to manage the side for the first time. However, it is hardly been a quiet two week for him, sorting out his Caoching Team and with players coming and leaving Adie Moran Park.
Indeed, it is likley to be a very different looking Heys team that takes the field at Cougar Park with four new signings having been made. It is largely a case of in to the unknown for Heys but the new regime will be looking to hit the ground running.
As Matt Barnes has stated, promotion remains the target and despite Heys indifferent form, they remain in touching distance of the top four with just over half the season remaining. A good run of results over the Festive period has the potential to push Heys right into the thick of the leading pack.
Steeton presently prop up the table, but come into the game in good form. They are unbeaten in their last four games having beaten Golcar 3-1 at home, drawing with Ashton Town and Atherton LR before securing an impressive 3-1 win at Holker Old Boys on Saturday.
They will approach the game with confidence and with the Heys camp and fans rich with anticipation at the dawning of a new era, an interesting afternoon awaits.
A coach for players/fans leaves Adie Moran Park at 11.30am, £10 return, first come, first served basis.
Fans will be heading to the Toby Carvery pub (BD21 4BB) a 10 min walk from ground for pre match drinks..Join us for Matt's first solo game in charge!
