Heys return to League action on Tuesday night when they travel to AFC Blackpool. (7.45pm)
Jon Lyons side will travel in good spirits, with a five match unbeaten run in League and FA Vase behind them, they have recovered from a slow start to the season to climb to fourth in the table and have been crowned the Macron Division One Club of the Month for August.
However, the Heys camp know there is still work to do to rectify the early damage done to their promotion hopes by the losses to Golcar and Nelson.
The resolve shown since will be needed once against a Blackpool side who themselves made a slow start to the season but have since chalked up successive wins in Vase and Cup.
They presently sit 14th in the table following a 3-0 win away at Holker Old Boys on Saturday, a result which followed a hectic week at the Mechanics Ground with the club signing no fewer than 19 players.
Heys have lost on their last two visits to Blackpool, the last gasp 1-0 defeat last year, was to cost them a place in this season’s FA Cup. A point would have ensured qualification.
They will look to put that right on Tuesday and continue their climb up the table.
A coach for players and supporters will depart from outside Adie Moran Park at 5pm at the usual cost of £15 return on a first come first served basis for those who wish to join us to cheer the boys on.
