The fixture is a repeat of last years opening game when Walshaw won 2-1. However, from there both went onto to challenge for the title, which was eventually won by Rochdale Sacred Heart, with Heys coming 4th and Walshaw 2nd.

Remarkably, Jeff Kavanagh's side play Hindsford Reserves in their second fixture, which again replicates last season, although this time the game will be at Sandgate Road.

The first meeting with Sacred Heart comes on 20th September at Sandgate Road with the return on 15th November.
