Heys have this week completed three new signings as they look to bolster their squad ahead of what will prove a hectic end to the season.
At the beginning of the week, they completed the signing of Sam Olawumi from Longridge Town. The centre half (pictured ) has been a regular figure at the heart of the Longridge defence making 32 appearances whilst scoring six goals. The signing increases Heys options at the back with Matty Williams still out injured and Regan Brown having left the club to seek more matches elsewhere. We wish Regan, who made 26 appearances, scoring one goal, all the best for the future.
Turning their attention to the other end of the pitch Lee O’Brien and James Hampson have added two strikers to their roster. Joining us from Nelson is a familiar face in Mitch Bryant who began the 2022-23 campaign at Adie Moran Park, scoring twice in seven appearances, before injury. Mitch includes Bury AFC, Colwyn Bay, Mossley and Trafford on his impressive CV, scoring goals wherever he has played and joins us from Nelson.
The third signing is Craig Hobson who joins us on an initial short term dual registration from Stalybridge Celtic. An experienced striker he has made 132 appearances for Celtic, where he’s scored 34 goals across two spells. He has also featured for the likes of Stockport County, Lincoln City, Chester and Ashton United.
