Heys bowed out of the FA Vase as they were defeated 2-0 at West Didsbury & Chorlton this afternoon.

Ryan Hutchinson's side came into the game on the back of six consecutive wins and started brightly but found themselves behind in the 14th minute. From a free kick, Joe Berks shot took a deflection, to wrongfoot Heys 'keeper Austyn Hall.

Heys looked to respond and were given the opportunity in the 27th minute when Takura Sambizi was brought down in the box. However, from the spot kick, the Heys man blazed his shot over the over bar.

Louis Holt and Bryson Appleton both had chances before the interval as Heys went in for the break a goal down.

On the restart Liam Cuthbert fired over but Didsbury were the stronger after the break and increased their lead in the 67th minute when Berks grabbed his second with a superb strike from 18 yards.

There was to be no way back from there for Heys as the hosts saw the game through to secure their place in the next round.
