Heys Under 21's closed the gap at the top of the table to two points with a 2-1 win at League leaders Chadderton on Sunday.
Headed goals by David Kerrigan and Jace Osborne, both from corners, gave Heys two goal advantage at half time. It was not until late in the game that the hosts pulled one back, but it was too late to deny Heys the points.
Heys have played a game more than Chadderton and have Atherton LR and Bury, with three games and one game in hand respectively, just behind them, in what looks a four team battle for the title.
This Sunday, Heys host Hopwood Hall in the League Cup (2pm).
