Heys Under 21’s side made a dramatic return to action on Sunday with a stunning 8-3 win over Bury Under 21’s at Gigg Lane.
Luke Mann opened the scoring before the hosts levelled but goals from David Kerrigan and Alfie Belcher helped give Heys a 3-1 interval lead.
After the break two quick fire strikes from Dre Taylor put Heys 5-1 up, before Bury pulled one back. Kerrigan then responded with his second as did Mann as he scored direct from a corner to make it 7-2 before the home side scored from the penalty spot.
Heys were still not done however and Mason Parry, on his return after a long absence through injury, hit an absolute screamer of a shot for their eighth goal of a memorable afternoon.
The win moved Heys up to second in the table, four points behind leaders Chadderton.
