

Heys Under 21's were beaten 2-1 by their counterparts from Chadderton yesterday in a thrilling contest at Adie Moran Park.
On a wet afternoon, Heys started the brightest creating several openings before taking the lead in the 20th minute with a close range strike from Blake Morris.
Heys continued to hold the upperhand and the visitors keeper Harry Perry pulled off three saves inside one furious phase of attacking play to deny the hosts a second goal.
Chadderton were not without threat however and Heys 'keeper Austyn Hall was twiced called upon to make saves. However, on the stroke of half time the visitors did level when a through ball beat Heys high press and the hugely impressive Kenny Thomson went through to beat Hall with an assured finish.
The second half opened in much the pattern of the first half with both keepers being tested but as the half progressed it was the visitors who began to gain the ascendancy. When Heys were reduced to ten men midway through the half Chadderton began to assert themselves further and were rewarded when Lewis Hulme fired home in the 70th minute.
Heys did mount a respsonse but were unable to carve out any meaningful opportunities as Chadderton saw a compelling game through to the end.
