After picking up their first win of the season at Handsworth last weekend in the Emirates FA Cup, Heys will be looking to collect their first League win of the campaign. After an opening day loss at Burscough, Ryan Hutchinson’s side collected their first point in a 1-1 draw at home to Barnoldswick Town, last Tuesday.

The hosts are also seeking their first League win. They too have one point so far from two games, which was also collected via a 1-1 home draw with Barnoldswick Town on the opening day of the season. In their other League fixture, Abbey Hey were beaten 6-2 at Chadderton. The East Manchester were knocked out of the FA cup this week losing a replay at Ossett United 1-0 after a 1-1 draw at home last Saturday.

The clubs have a long history of matches against each other, the majority back in their Manchester League days. At semi pro level, they have met six times with, two wins a piece and one draw in their five NW Counties League and FA Cup meetings. In their two visits to Goredale Avenue Heys have come away with a 0-0 draw and then a 2-1 loss last season.

A couple of names from Heys recent past are in the Abbey Hey squad in Sam Freakes and Ivan Egharevba, both having made a handful of appearances for us the past couple of years.

Directions: M60 to junction 24, take A57 to Manchester City Centre for approx. 1 mile, at first set of major traffic lights (McDonalds on right) pass through for approx. 300 yards, turn left immediately before overhead railway bridge (A.H.F.C. sign) into Woodland Avenue. Take first right, pass under railway bridge, turn first left into Goredale Avenue.

They all travel down Hyde Road and ask for the bus stop at Tan Yard Brow opposite Woodland Avenue. Walk down Woodland Ave turn right at the end then first left into Goredale Avenue.

Ground Facilities: In the clubhouse there is male and female toilets there is a tea bar and a licensed bar. Outside there is one set of toilets.
