The final scoreline was somewhat harsh on Heys, who were twice caught on the break in added time, in pushing for an equaliser. However, the Management and players also know there were elements of their play that they didn’t display on the day, and they will be looking to put that right in front of the home crowd.

Barnoldswick opened their campaign with hard fought 2-2 draw at Abbey Hey. They were only moments away from recording victory, but a 90th minute equaliser, saw the hosts grab a point. Earlier in the game goals from Ryan Bolton and William Proctor saw Barlick overturn a half time deficit.

The visitors are under new Management this season, with Gerry Harrison at the helm. The ex-Football League man includes Burnley, Watford and Sunderland amongst his former clubs and some Heys fans will recall he spent a season at Heys in 2000-01 under the Management of Adie Moran.

Meetings between the teams over the years have tended to favour the away side, with Barlick, who came nineteenth last season, having won on four of their five visits to Heys, who have an identical record in their trips to the Silentnight Stadium.

Licensed bar in the clubhouse serving hot and cold drinks, hot and cold food/snacks and equipped with televisions and seating for around sixty people. Gents and Ladies WC's are also located in the clubhouse. An additional serving hatch is available adjacent to the Seated Stand.

We have a covered standing area for approx 150 people and covered seating for 100.

There's free on-site parking for around 150 cars on the front and down the length of the motorway side of the ground. Please do not park on Sandgate Road or surrounding streets.

Pyrotechnics are banned. This includes Flares, Fireworks and Smoke Bombs. Anyone carrying pyrotechnics will be subject to a Football Banning order.

Supporters are also reminded that is an offence to enter the Playing Area and doing so can result in a Banning order.

The Club does not allow Dogs into the ground. The only exception to this rule is for Disability Support Dogs.

Please note out of consideration to our neighbours Drums and other Musical Instruments are banned from the ground. Visiting supporters are asked to also refrain from placing flags on the Clubhouse / Seated stand side of the ground.

Other than the match itself no ball games are allowed in the ground. Please do not bring your own Footballs.

PLEASE NOTE: Work has commenced on the Simister Island project at junction 18 of the M60. There will be roadworks along the stretch of motorway adjacent to our ground between Junction 17 and Junction 18. Please be mindful of possible delays if visiting the ground or similarly if your trip to other clubs in the area involves travelling through this area.
