Prestwich Heys Easter trip to FC Isle of Man was wrecked by Storm Dave.
The game kicked off as planned at 6pm on Saturday in strong winds, but playable conditions. Heys largely controlled the first half and took the lead with a Bryson Appleton goal in the tenth minute.
They held the lead until the interval by which point the conditions began to worsen with the increasing winds also bringing heavy rain. A meeting between the match officials and team Managers prior to the second half saw the game resume. However, conditions, became unplayable. Heys keeper Kyle Haslam was unable to take a goal kicks in the face of the wind and when the goalposts themselves began rolling away on the artificial surface the match was suspended on the hour mark, initially for fifteen minutes. With no improvement in conditions the game was then abandoned.
