Heys head to Stockport Town on Monday night in the NW Counties Premier Division (7.45pm).
They travel looking for their first League win of the season after back to back 2-0 home defeats to Padiham and Burscough. Indeed, Heys will start second from bottom of the table, in the relegation zone, a position they occupied for long periods last season and will not wish to this time around.
Their sole point came in the opening draw at Euxton Villa and it is fair to say they have shown real promise and genuine moments of quality in their matches thus far. However, a cutting edge has been lacking and that is something they will be looking to address.
Stockport opened their campaign with two 3-0 wins at South Liverpool and Abbey Hey, before falling 2-1 to Padiham at home on Saturday. Propelled by five goals from George Kattah they sit third in the table and victory would put them top for 24 hours at least.
