Heys go into their last six games of the season tomorrow morning when they face FC Isle of Man (11am).
Having dragged themselves from a position of near certain relegation at the turn of the year, Heys are still in with a fighting chance of remaining in the top tier. They have slipped back to the bottom of the table in recent weeks, but the opportunity still exists for them to preserve their Premier Division status.
They go into the game knowing how their rivals in the relegation battle have fared this weekend. South Liverpool won at home to Glossop (2-0), Colne lost by the same score at Burscough and Pilkington drew 3-3 against FC Isle of Man.
Heys have the chance then to make ground on Colne, who they face next week and Pilkington tomorrow as their hosts play their second game in less than nineteen hours. In truth the margins for error are increasingly narrow and it seems Heys cannot really afford to come home without something. A win would lift them off the bottom and set up a huge game next Saturday up in Lancashire.
Isle of Man were looking to be in with a chance of the play offs not long ago, but have won only once in their last eight games, collecting seven points, to slip out of the running. Having hosted Pilkington today, playing Heys tomorrow and then being at home to South Liverpool next weekend the Ravens have the chance to influence the relegation scrap. Heys will be looking to make sure it is not to their detriment tomorrow.
