After the victories at Handsworth and Runcorn Town, Ryan Hutchinson's side will face familiar opposition in their NW Counties Premier Division rivals, whom they will travel to again in the League next Saturday, 12th September.

For now, though it’s all about the Cup. South Liverpool have faced Counties opposition in both of the two previous rounds with a 4-2 win at Ramsbottom followed by a 3-2 victory at Longridge Town in the Preliminary Round. The Merseyside team have collected four points in the League from four games so far this season, the points all coming at home from a 1-1 draw with Irlam and a 4-0 win over AFC Liverpool. In their most recent game Souths were beaten 1-0 at home by Litherland Remyca on Wednesday night.

South Liverpool has a long history in the FA Cup. In the late 1930’s and 1940’s they reached the second round proper on four occasions and did so again in in 1964-65, 1972-73 and 1985 -86. They have reached the fourth qualifying round on seven other occasions, the most recent being in 1991 where they went out to Bishop Auckland.

Heys six match unbeaten run in all competitions was ended at Ramsbottom on Tuesday night and they will be looking to bounce back on Saturday. A win for Heys would put them in the 2nd Qualifying Round for the first time since 1983, where they went out to Southport. There was only one Preliminary Round at that time so a victory would make it the first time Heys have negotiated three rounds in the competition.

The teams have only ever met on four occasions, all in the NW Counties Premier over the last two seasons, with Heys having won all four matches.

If the game is drawn tomorrow, it goes to a replay at Adie Moran Park on Tuesday night (8th September), 7.45pm.

The winners of the tie will receive £2,250, the losers £750.
