Ellis Richardson (pictured) fired a hat-trick as Heys wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 5-1 win at Holywell Town this afternoon.

The North Wales hosts have been promoted to the Cymru Premier Division this season and they took the lead with a close-range header in the 12th minute.

However, Heys began to establish themselves in the game and were level in the 37th minute when Louis Holt went through to round the ’keeper and slot home.

Two minutes later Heys went ahead when a poor pass from the home ‘keeper went straight to close season signing Richardson to fire home.

On the stroke of half time, Heys added a third as a fine build up culminated in Richardson, who has signed from Bolton Wyresdale, rounded the keeper and slotted home.

Heys continued to hold the upper hand after the break and increased their lead in the 73rd minute when a great build up down the right culminated in Dre Taylor picking out Richardson to complete his hat-trick from close range.

Two minutes later Heys added a fifth goal as another summer signing, Mitchell Henry, made his mark with a fine finish.

That completed the scoring and capped a fine performance by Heys now turn their attention to the serious business of the North West Counties Premier Division season starting at Burscough next Saturday.
