Heys final home pre-season fixture ended in victory this afternoon as they came from behind to beat Whitchurch Alport 3-1 at Adie Moran Park.
Trailing 1-0 at the break Heys rallied after the interval with goals from Toby Green, Louis Holt and Alistair Bracken clinching the win.
The opening forty five minutes belonged to Alport and they took the lead in the 40th minute. Heys were unable to register a shot on target before the break as they laboured on another warm day.
Heys rang the changes in the second half and were much sharper and in the 65th minute they levelled. Green collected the ball 20 yards out and fired a cracking shot into the bottom right.
In the ascendancy, Heys applied the pressure and took the lead in the 84th minute when a great cross from the left picked out Holt, coming in from the right, to head home from close range.
Two minutes later Heys added a third, in similiar fashion. David Badrock drove in a cross and this time it was Bracken, who was on hand, to head home from six yards.
So ultimately, a good win for Heys. who were much improved in the second half, and now move onto Tuesday night and a trip to Flixton (7.30pm)
