Prestwich Heys opened their Pre-Season campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Daisy Hill at Adie Moran Park on Tuesday night.
The visitors overcame a half time deficit to take the victory in a game that saw Heys field two completely different elevens as they changed their whole team at the break.
The opening twenty five minutes were competitive but it was largely pre-season fare with scoring opportunities none existent.
As the half progressed Heys did start to impose themselves and a good run by Takura Sambizi saw him cut into the box before shooting just wide.
However, Heys increased momentum was to bring them a goal in the 43rd minute when Sambizi teed up Lee Grimshaw to apply an assured finish with a shot into the far corner.
Witt changes made by both sides at the break it was Daisy HIll who emerged the stronger side equalising within three minutes of the restart. From a corner Ben Unsworth applied the finish from close range.
For a spell the game became a little fiesty, with a couple of sharp challenges. Although, Heys approach play was promising they lacked a cutting edge in and around the box.
Daisy Hill were the livelier and they took the lead in the 70th minute from a free kick from the edge of the area by former Heys player Kaiden Barlow.
In the closing stages Heys pressed for an equaliser but it was not to be but Heys boss Ryan Hutchinson will have taken much from the game as he builds his side in readiness for the season starts on 26th July.
