
We are delighted to welcome Leighton Mills to Prestwich Heys. Leighton is the first significant appointment of Jon Lyons Chairmanship and will operate with a working title of Director of Football. However, his remit will be across the club as a whole working with Jon to develop the day-to-day operations, infrastructure and facilities at Adie Moran Park.
Leighton is a former Daisy Hill Manager and scout for Preston North End where he spent three years. As Manager of Daisy Hill, where he spent two years, he led them to their joint highest ever league position and two Cup Finals. He will work with Lee O’Brien and James Hampson, overseeing the football side and ensuring the Managers have the resources and support needed to both maintain and build the squad.
Whilst at Daisy Hill he also played a key role behind the scenes in improvements to their pitch and ground. The owner of two successful businesses, Leighton will look to bring that experience and business know how to operations across the whole football club working closely with Jon to strengthen the clubs’ finances to allow investment into improving the facilities at Adie Moran Park.
On his appointment Leighton said “I am delighted and excited to be joining Heys and working with Jon. It is a club with a rich history, and I am looking forward to supporting Jon, Lee & James as we look to push the club forward to a brighter future. I look forward to meeting everyone at the club.
