Kyle Haslam has won The North West Counties League Premier Division Paxsport Goalkeeper of the Month Award for April.
This is the second successive month that Kyle has won this award after winning it in March, and rounds off a fine end of season after his move to Heys in November.
The 29-year old started at Radcliffe before moving to Stockport Town in 2017. He then moved to Charnock Richard before joining Wythenshawe in the 2019/20 season. He remained at the Ammies for six seasons, winning the NWCFL Premier Division with them, before moving to Cheadle Town at the start of this season. He joined Prestwich in November where he became first choice goalkeeper. He has made over 200 appearances in the NWCFL.
Kyle played in all four games that Prestwich had in April, keeping clean sheets in three of them. In his final 13 games of the season, he kept 10 clean sheets and conceded just seven goals.
The first game in April was a 1-0 win at home to Chadderton. It was a close game with Prestwich thankful for a superb double save by Kyle towards the end of the first half from Lewis-Simon Byrne that secured the clean sheet.
Next up was a trip to West Didsbury & Chorlton, a game which West won 5-2. Kyle could not do anything to stop a dominant display from West, a result that ended a ten match winning streak for Prestwich and the first goals that they had conceded in seven games.
The third game of the month saw Prestwich return to winning ways with a 4-0 win over AFC Liverpool, bringing Kyle another clean sheet. Despite being four goals ahead, Kyle was instrumental in securing the shutout with a good block on the hour and a fingertip save to tip over a Joel Skillen shot with 20 minutes to go. He also denied Cam Rooney with another great save in stoppage time.
Concluding the month was a 3-0 away win at Cheadle Town. Kyle made two key stops in the first half to help secure the clean sheet, denying Oliver Kvaternik in the opening minutes before stopping a Sheriff Njie effort midway through the half.
Congratulations to Kyle on his Award!
