Prestwich Heys' Jack Coop has taken the NWCFL Premier Division's top scorer award after a season in which he notched a whopping 24 goals.
He shares the award with Charnock Richard's Carl Grimshaw, a NWCFL veteran who also bagged 24 league goals this season.
Heys played their first season of NWCFL Prem football in their history in the 2021/22 season, and Coop's goals have been a massive reason for their comfortable survival and eventual 16th place finish.
His goalscoring form came in bursts throughout the season, and during one of these bursts he managed a 4-goal haul away at Ashton Athletic which inspired Heys to a 3-4 win.
That wasn't the only 4-goal haul of his that came throughout the season. In a September FA Vase clash which ended in an impressive 7-2 win over Brigg Town, Coop was responsible for 4 goals then too.
He even managed to scoop Prestwich's club goal of the season award with a mind-blowing half-way line goal in a 4-1 defeat away to Wythenshawe Town.
In response to receiving this award, Coop said "I'm happy to win the golden boot. This season has been a good one for me personally and my goals helped us achieve our aim as a club of staying in the division."
Congratulations Jack!
