It is with sadness that we have learned of the passing of our former Chairman Wilf Davison.

Wilf was Chairman of the Club from 2001-2004 during which time he made the decision to appoint Adie Moran as Manager of the club, setting in motion a hugely successful and progressive period that as well as bringing three Manchester League titles to the club also saw ground developments that formed the basis of the ground we see today.

During this period Wilf, who was the Liberal Democrat Councillor for Holyrood, also became Mayor of Bury.

In recognising his achievements, we also remember Wilf as one the kindest and friendliest people you could ever wish to meet. Always supportive, with time for everyone, he was a pleasure to be around whether it be dealing with club business or relaxing and enjoying the social side.

We extend our sincere condolences to Wilf’s family and friends at this sad time.
