Heys Under 21s will face Atherton LR in the NW Under 21s Development League Championship Division Trophy Final at Adie Moran Park this Sunday, 3rd May, 2pm.

It’s promises to be a fascinating contest between the top two teams in Division A this season.

LR come into the game as Champions, having finished five points clear of second placed Heys in the table. It’s been quite a season for Atherton who also reached the League Cup Final before losing 2-0 to Premier Division Stalybridge Celtic.

In the League meetings between the clubs LR had the better of things over Heys. A 1-1 draw at Kearsley Academy was followed by a 3-2 win at Adie Moran Park, both games being played back in October.

Heys were still finding their feet then, in this their debut season, but will enter the Final on the back of twelve successive wins, that secured them runners up spot in the League and a promotion play off final place.

Before then is this weekends Trophy Final as two teams look to lift the silverware after outstanding seasons.
