It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Heys with changes to the squad seeing some new faces coming in and others departing.
Goalkeeper Louis Hood suffered a fractured cheekbone in our match at Stockport Town and was due to have an operation this week. To cover for his absence, we have recruited Bradley Sullivan. The 18-year-old is on Radcliffe’s books and has joined us on dual registration. He has made a big impact since coming into the team with some assured performances, not least in our penalty shoot win over Irlam on Tuesday night when he saved two spot kicks. Bradley will be referred to on team sheets as Bradley A. Sullivan to avoid confusion with existing player Bradley Sullivan (now Bradley J.) who has recently had an operation to resolve his Hernia injury which has kept him out of actions since the early weeks of the season.
Joining us on dual registration is Luke Mann. The 19-year-old midfielder made his debut at Litherland last week having come to us on work experience from Rochdale FC. The midfield has been strengthened further by the arrival of 22-year-old Dave Edwards from Atherton Collieries. Dave has also had a recent spell playing in Armenia.
Elijah Hearn has joined us having previously been at Biggleswade Town. The 20-year-old left back made his first start at Litherland last week but had to withdraw after fifteen minutes with an injury.
Also joining us from further afield is striker Sammy Imessaoudene (main picture in grey shirt). The 19-year-old joins us from Norfolk based Mulbarton FC and made a goalscoring debut at Litherland last week. Both Elijah and Sammy have recently moved up to Manchester.
Luke Jackson has joined us from Ramsbottom. The 21-year-old wide man / midfielder made his debut against Chadderton but has had to sit out the last couple of games.
Making his debut on Tuesday night against Irlam was striker Finlay Stafford (pictured below),
who joins us from West Lancashire League Eagley, where he finished top scorer last season as they won a League and Cup double.
Leaving the club is Kyle Preece, who after a short spell with us has been released to sign for Ashton Town. Hensley Mills has joined Darwen,
We end with some good news on the injury front, where Adam Hampshire, who suffered a worrying head injury against Glossop, is back in training and should be available again soon.
