Heys keeper Harry Allen has been named as the NW Counties Premier Division goalkeeper of the month for January.
Harry played four games in the month, keeping two clean sheets, whilst conceding three goals. His all round contribution to Heys revival was also recognised in his nomination which was as follows:
Harry has made a big impression since joining us and has been a key part of our improved results over the month.
Our 3-0 victory over Squires Gate, looked comfortable on paper, but for a long time the game hung in the balance. Whilst 0-0, Harry made a couple of smart saves to keep the scores level and after we had taken a 1-0 lead, he again made a great save to deny Dean Ing an equaliser.
At Lower Breck, although conceding two, Harry was in the thick of the action with some great saves in the second half as the hosts applied the pressure, keeping us in the game, as we almost secured a late equaliser.
Harry did not have too much to do in our 4-1 win over South Liverpool, but one of the features of his game is he is very vocal in giving out directions or alerting his teammates.
This was also evident in the 1-0 win over Litherland. At 0-0 Harry made a great scrambling save to deny Remyca and then in the second half with us holding a slender lead, his directions from the back, were instrumental in seeing us through to a key win.”
Our Congratulations go to Harry who will receive his Award before a forthcoming home game.
