Heys welcome Congleton Town to Adie Moran Park on Tuesday evening looking to bounce back to winning ways following Saturday’s defeat at Winsford United.

The loss brought to an end a three-match winning run that cemented Heys in seventh place in the table. However, the setback now puts that position under threat, not least from our visitors tonight.

Congleton are presently ninth in the table with forty-nine points from 28 games played and sit four points behind Heys but with two games in hand. The Bears are having a fine season and are still competing on three fronts. They progressed to the semi-finals of the League’s Macron Cup at weekend with a 1-0 win over Northwich Victoria whilst they are also through to the last eight of the FA Vase where they will host Bury AFC next month.

Our visitors are unbeaten in their last seven games and have lost only twice in their last twenty-one games. Included in that sequence of results is a 1-0 home win over Heys in October.

For Heys, it’s about finishing the season strongly and in as a high a position as possible. They have made great progress this season and already have six more points than they achieved in the whole of last season. The loss of Rudy Misambo to Lancaster City last week was a blow but it has presented the chance for youngster Regan Brown to establish himself and that has been a theme throughout the season.

Heys have also largely delivered in the big matches, with wins over AVRO, Bury AFC and a double over Vauxhall Motors. Managers Lee O’Brien and James Hampson will be looking for more of the same on Tuesday night as they look to break into the top six.

A minute’s silence will be held ahead of kick off in memory of our former player Andy Povall who passed away last week.
