Prestwich Heys return to North West Counties League Premier Division action on Saturday when they travel over to the Isle of Man.
The match will be the first time the clubs have ever met following Isle of Man’s admission into the football pyramid in 2020. After delays due to Covid the club commenced life in the Counties at the start of the 2021-22 season. Competing in Division One South they won promotion at the first time of asking, via the play-offs. For good measure they also won the Edward Case 1st Division Cup, beating Cammell Laird 1-0 in the Final.
In the Premier Division they have had a mixed bag of results so far and sit 14th in the table with ten points from nine games following their 4-0 loss at Bury in midweek.
For their part, Heys will be looking to get back to winning ways after successive defeats to AFC Liverpool and Kendal Town took the gloss of a strong start to the season. Nonetheless, Lee O’Brien and James Hampson's side remain in the top half sitting tenth with twelve points from seven games.
With injuries and suspensions having an impact Heys have added to their squad this week with the signing on dual registration from Glossop of the experienced midfielder Bevan Burey whilst also snapping up striker Matthew Davies from Euxton Villa.
Saturday’s game kicks off a busy run of matches with four weeks of midweek matches in the mix, the first of which is against Squires Gate next Tuesday night at Adie Moran Park (7.45pm).
