Heys welcome New Mills to Adie Moran Park tomorrow night hoping for a return to winning ways.
After going on an eleven-match unbeaten run they have now lost four games on the bounce in League and Cup.
Fortunately, to some extent, two of those defeats have come in knockout football so the damage to Heys League position has not been as bad as it could otherwise have been. Nonetheless, a return to form is needed quickly. It was at this time last season that Heys endured a similar run that left them playing catch up and whilst their position is stronger at present they will want to quickly start to build on the foundations they laid so impressively in the opening months of the campaign.
New Mills have had an up and down season so far. Relegated last season, they have enjoyed some notable results, a 2-1 win at Litherland and a 3-2 victory over Alsager for example. On the other hand, they have had some disappointing setbacks – their 5-1-win home loss to Daisy Hill last weekend an illustration of their inconsistency.
They come into the game though with three wins in the last six and will be hoping to capitalise on Heys current woes.
