Heys host Charnock Richard in their final home league game of the season on Thursday night (7.45pm) with their place in the promotion play-offs at stake.

With a trip to Pilkington on Saturday to follow, Heys know that wins in both of their last two games will guarantee them a spot in the play offs. With two of Wythenshawe, Wythenshawe Town or Bury certain of two of the play off spots, Heys are locked in a battle with Kendal Town, Padiham and Chadderton for the other two places.

Over the past month or so, Heys form has followed a sequence of win, lose, win, lose and so on. After Saturday’s victory over West Didsbury & Chorlton, they know the time has come to break that sequence and push themselves in to the play-offs.

They face a tough task against a Charnock Richard side who are always tough opposition and mathematically could still sneak a play-off spot, should they win all their remaining six games, although defeat against Heys would end that possibility. The games have been coming come thick and fast for Charnock in recent weeks and they come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with FC Isle of Man on Tuesday night and a 2-1 win at Litherland Remyca last Saturday.

Prior to that they lost to at home to Kendal Town 3-2 and 3-0 at Padiham. Heys know they must follow suit if they are to keep their hopes on track.
