Heys return to action at Adie Moran Park on Saturday when they face AFC Liverpool in the Macron Cup 3rd Round (3pm).
After the sobering 3-0 home reverse to Daisy Hill a fortnight ago, the players will be looking to put things right with the home fans.
They went some way to doing that anyway with the stunning Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy win at Colne on Tuesday night and Heys know they will have maintain that level of performance against the Merseysiders, who are making their second visit to Prestwich this season.
Back on a balmy August Bank Holiday Monday, Heys won a tight League contest 1-0. Both teams had made slow starts to the season, after going into the campaign amongst the favourites for promotion.
However, whilst, Heys have remained somewhat Jekyll and Hyde in their form since then Liverpool have well and truly found their feet. They are unbeaten in their last thirteen games, having won the last nine and on three occasions in that run have hit eight goals in a match.
Indeed, their only defeat since the teams last met, was in the FA Vase to Nostell Miners Welfare. Jon Lyons and Matt Barnes will be looking for their team to build on Tuesday night's display and so remain the last North-West Counties team to defeat the Merseysiders.
