A Lee Bruce hat-trick helped fire Heys into the Kenyon Cup semi-finals as they cruised to an 8-1 win over Walshaw B at Adie Moran Park tonight.
Heys will now meet Walshaw A in the last four - a repeat of last season's Final.
The highlight of the night though was a spectacular strike by Jamie Baguley - who scored Heys 7th - with a great finish from ten yards inside his own half!
Jon Lyons side did not have it all their own way. Indeed the 3-1 half time lead probably flattered Heys.
Walshaw started the brighter and it took a good save from Rob Sadler to keep them out.
However, three goals in a ten minute spell, starting in the 13th minute, set Heys on their way.
A great finish by Paul Tierney opened the scoring before Baguley and Max White combined to set up Bruce for a tap in.
White was provider again for the third as his corner was headed home by Bruce.
Walshaw were rewarded for their efforts when Jack Coop steered home and the visitors squandered two good chances as Heys switched off.
A great run by Dalton McLaughlin, which ended with his shot hitting the bar, raised the tempo for Heys as half time approached.
It was a momentum they carried into the second half with five goals in 15 minutes.
George Powell scored from the penalty spot before a great near post finish by McLaughlin for the fifth.
Bruce strolled through the defence to complete his hat-trick before Baguley's wonder strike made it seven.
Greg Wills finished with aplomb as Heys threatened to run up a cricket score.
However, the woodwork denied Tierney and Wills adding to the total.
