Five weeks since their last game Heys look for an important three points

“OK lads, this is a football”

That may be the words Heys Reserves Manager Tony Hanson says on Saturday before they host Uppermill (2pm).

It’s five weeks since his side were last in action, a period which has seen them knocked off top spot in Manchester League Division One.

Atherton Town are the new leaders on the back of an eleven game unbeaten run during which they have won ten.

They presently lead the table by three points but Heys have five games in hand. The teams are due to meet a week on Saturday at Atherton.

Hanson will therefore be keen to get his team back up and running after their weather enforced absence. Prior to the break they had reeled off three emphatic successive away wins and enjoyed a healthy lead at the top.

They face an Uppermill side that have struggled after their relegation from the Premier Division last season and are second from bottom of the table with eight points from 18 games.

All but one of those points has come at home with ten of their eleven away fixtures bringing defeats.

However, after such a lengthy break Heys will have to guard against rustiness as they look for an important three points ahead of that crunch game against Atherton.
