Squires Lane, Tyldesley, 2pm.

After a weekend off Heys Reserves return to action this Saturday when they travel to Hindsford (2pm).

As well as a chance to recharge their batteries, the break also did Heys some favours as two of their rivals at the top of the table both slipped up.

Champions Rochdale Sacred Heart were beaten at home by Royton whilst Wythenshawe Amateurs lost at 2-1 at Hindsford.

Those results left Jeff Kavanagh’s side six points clear at the top whilst the Hindsford result should ensure that Heys will be on their mettle when they enter the field at Squires Lane.

Hindsford have had a mixed start to the season collecting eleven points from their eight games played. Seven of those have come from their four home games.

It’s the second time the teams have met this season, with the fixture a repeat of the second weekend of the campaign when Heys ran out 4-2 winners at Adie Moran Park courtesy of a Steve Charles hat trick and a further strike from Matt Jolly.

Another three points on Saturday would set Heys up nicely ahead of possibly defining games with Wythenshawe Amateurs and Rochdale Sacred Heart.
