Reserves away at Irlam Steel

Heys travel to Alsager Town on Saturday looking to arrest their drop in form that has seen them lose their last five games, three coming in the League.

On such a run a trip to team fourth in the table would appear the last tie Heys would hope for.

However, it is often the case that teams arrest such dips in the unlikeliest of fixtures and that will be the hope as Jon Lyons sends his side into action at Woodland Court (3pm).

Alsager, themselves are experiencing a dip in form in comparison to their early season exploits, which saw them lead the table, with two wins, a draw and three defeats in their last six games. Nonetheless, with games in hand they are still well placed in the promotion race, seven points behind leaders Whitchurch with three games in hand.

They also boast a strong home record with five wins, two draw and a defeat thus far.

Heys loss of form has seen them lose ground on the promotion /play off positions but, with between three and six games in hand on the teams above them, if they can re discover their form of the first three months of the campaign they can put themselves firmly back in the mix.

However, they do need to rediscover that form soon and now would be the right time ahead of a run of fixtures against teams in the mix in the top half of the table.

When the teams met early in the season at Adie Moran Park, Heys dominated the game for long spells but a failure to take their chances saw them lose 2-1 following a late Alsager rally.

They remain on the road on Saturday when they travel to Irlam Steel (2pm). Irlam just missed out on the play offs last season but have struggled for consistency this season and are presently fifth bottom with 18 points from 15 games. However, they are strong at home having lost just six games in the last two season and averaged three goals a game in the process.
With four of the five teams below Heys meeting though Tony Hanson will be looking for his side to strengthen their position at the top.
