Euxton trip for 1st team whilst Reserves host Gregorians

Its Lancashire Shield action for Heys this weekend as they make the trip to Euxton Villa for a second round tie (2pm).

Villa play in the West Lancashire League Premier Division where they currently sit in in fifth place with 20 points from ten games having won six, drawn two and lost two.

They go into the game on the back of a resounding 7-1 home win over Vickerstown last Saturday, part of a run of three successive wins that began with a 5-4 away win at Mill Hill St. Peters in the 1st round of the Shield.

Heys will travel buoyed by last weekend’s superb win at Dukinfield and looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

However, they will be only too aware of the dangers West Lancashire League sides pose. The Shield winners come from that League generally and Heys will know they will have to match the heights shown at Dukinfield if they are to make progress.

Euxton play at The Jim Fowler Memorial Ground, Runshaw Hall Lane, Euxton, Chorley, PR7 6HH. The match will go straight to penalties if the scores are level at 90 minutes.

After topping the table and reaching a landmark 12 months unbeaten last weekend Heys Reserves host Manchester Gregorians at Adie Moran Park in a league fixture, 2pm.

Gregs have made a steady start to the season collecting nine point from five games with three wins and two defeats.

They enter the game on the back of a 6-1 home win over Leigh last Saturday.
