The match brings together two sides in red hot form. Royton, as well as reaching the Final of the Lancashire Shield and semi-finals of the Gilgryst Cup, have won their last seven league fixtures scoring 26 goals in the process.

Over the same period, Heys have won six of their last seven in the league whilst booking a last four spot in the Gilgryst, scoring 30 goals.

The two previous meetings between the duo this season have been thrilling affairs. A 2-2 draw in the League at Adie Moran Park in August was followed by a 3-2 home win for Royton in the Lancashire Shield in October.

Whilst Royton may have edged it results wise, the margins have been slender in both encounters.

Saturday, should prove no different. Although nothing will be decided long term, the result offers the chance for one to may be gain a psychological advantage over the other for the remainder of the campaign and provide more direction as to requirements in the months ahead.

In the short term it represents a chance for Heys to strengthen their position should they win whilst a Royton win would knock Heys off pole position for the first time this season. A draw would give the chasing pack the opportunity to make up some ground.
