Prestwich Heys are into arguably one of the biggest months in their history.

By the end of this month the club will have a much clearer indication of whether their push for promotion to the North West Counties League is going to be successful.

To make the step up the club must meet stringent criteria, set by the FA, both on and off the pitch.

Off the field, all the necessary ground and paper work must be in place by 31st March. That means by the end of the month Heys new dressing rooms and covered standing accommodation must be in place.

Preparatory work has been ongoing through February and the Dressing Rooms will be on site this week ready for fitting out.

The club have also been making an off field push for support in the local community led by new Commercial Manager Paul Hinchy which has led to really positive links being established with local business, community groups and political leaders. MP Ivan Lewis is amongst those giving the club his backing.

On the field Heys head into Spring top of the Manchester League Premier Division. Although February brought a mixed bags of results with two wins and two defeats, all told Heys have won nine of their last eleven matches to keep them on course for at least a top five finish, the minimum requirement for promotion.

March though brings some big tests with matches away to two of the league’s top teams in Hindsford and Walshaw, games which will have a big bearing on Heys destiny.

The club are looking for the community to get behind the club in any way they can at this important time.

Heys are on the verge of a new era with potential long term benefits for the club and the town.
