End of the line for Heys duo

Chris McKay and Chris Denham have said their farewells to Heys in the past week.

McKay has decided to retire from the game after a successful career that has taken in the likes of Trafford and Ramsbottom United before joining Heys two years ago.

He made 41 appearances scoring five goals, many of them spectacular long range efforts, including a strike from the half way line in a 3-2 win at Dukinfield last season.

Denham has moved into management, being appointed assistant boss at Trafford. Having started his career at Heys, making his first team debut aged 16, the striker reached the highest levels of the non-league game spending several seasons at Altrincham.

He returned to Heys last season, finishing top scorer with 10 goals in 18 appearances. A knee injury kept him out for the last two months of the season, a problem which may see him having ended his playing career as he started it - at Heys.

We thank both for their service and wish them both the very best for the future.
