Charles grabs another hat-trick for rampant Reserves

A 90th minute goal denied Heys victory at Dukinfield Town this afternoon.

In a hard fought and sometimes highly physical contest Jon Lyons side were left to rue their failure to capitalise on a 1st half of total domination.

Heys created numerous chances as they camped out in the Dukinfield half for long periods. Paul Tierney hit the bar, Chris Denahm was denied by a great save and Erike Sousa had two good opportunities as the half ended goalless.

Fear that Heys may be made to pay for their profilgacy were almost confirmed in the opening minute of the second half when the hosts stand out player Tyler Devlin hit the angle of post and bar.

It was somewhat ironic that Heys should score their goal, at a time when they were a their least effective of the game, but that is what happened when Sousa got in behind the defence, was too quick for the onrushing 'keeper and steered the ball into the unguarded net.

In a much more even second half Heys continued to pose a threat but it was the hosts who created the better chances with a great save from Rob Sadler preserving the lead.

Injuries to Mark Drew and Jon Lyons disrupted Heys midfield and as the game entered the final stages Town pushed forward.

However, just when it seemed Heys had seen the game out they found themselves short on numbers at the back and Arron Williams popped up to steer low past Sadler.

Steve Charles (pictured) slammed a hat-trick for the second week running as Heys Reserves maintained their flying start to the season with a 4-2 win over Hindsford Reserves at Adie Moran Park.

Matt Jolly added the other for Jeff Kavanagh's side to put them at the top of the fledging league table.
