A very entertaining game, end to end for both halves although Heys won’t be so entertained by the 3-0 loss.
Heys can take a few positives especially the first 40 minutes. The best chance came to Ryan McGreevy shooting from 12 yards but a brilliant save from Monton’s goalkeeper. He had to go off and Monton’s striker had to replace him.
On 44 minutes a great headed goal from Nick Houghton hits the post and goes in. It got worse for Heys four minutes later when Rob Whatmough fired a shot into the corner. No chance for Rob Sadler in the Heys net.
In the second half Heys brought on Sousa and Charles hoping to get a goal. They did change the game for Heys with Charles having a great chance from a volley form a corner.
But in the 83rd minute Gill sealed the game for Monton with a tap in.
That’s’ all the game written so Heys go crashing out of the Cup.
