The Manchester League representative side recorded an impressive 2-1 win over the West Lancashire League tonight in the semi-finals of the Jeff Walton Memorial Cup.

Four Heys players figured in the triumph. Lee Bruce, George Powell and Craig Thomas all started the game with Lewis Smith joining them as a substitute after 20 minutes.

Chris Howard gave the Manchester League the lead in the 30th minute.

That lead was added to in the 50th minute with a goal that had Heys stamped all over it as Bruce drove home from a Powell cross.

The West Lancashire League pulled a goal back with eight minutes remaining but there was to be no denying the Manchester League who will face the Cheshire League in the final.
