Heys secured top spot in their Kenyon Cup group as they cruised to an 8-1 win over Ainsworth at a rain swept Adie Moran Park tonight.
The victory guarantees Heys a home draw in the last eight which is due to be played next week.
Jamie Baguley set Heys on their way as early as the 5th minute with a curling shot from just inside the touchline.
Paul Hinchy pulled off a good save with his legs moments later to preserve the lead before Heys boss Jon Lyons then fired home a 25 yard free kick to make it 2-0 after 12 minutes.
In complete control, Heys continued to create chances but had to wait until the 38th minute to add to their lead when a Baguley cross was steered home at the far post by Lee Bruce.
Despite a raft of half time changes Heys remained on top and an angled shot by Dalton McLaughlin (pictured) made it four nil.
Ryan Cain then scored with a low shot on the hour for Heys fifth.
Ainsworth continued to battle away and reduced the arrears in the 64th with a cool finish by Lewis Channon.
Normal service was resumed in the 70th minute when Paul Tierney broke from deep and capped his run with a great finish.
Pete Hickford headed Heys seventh before McLaughlin concluded the scoring in the last minute with a jinxing run through the defence before slotting home.
