Heys welcome FC Isle of Man to Adie Moran Park on Saturday for their first ever visit to Prestwich.

The Ravens joined the NW Counties League at the beginning of the 2020/21 season but were prevented from playing due to Covid restrictions. However, they made up for lost time last season by finishing 2nd in Division One South, five points behind Champions West Didsbury & Chorlton.

However, they gained promotion in the Play-Offs, defeating Holker Old Boys in the semi-finals 2-1 before then beating Cammell Laird 1-0 in the Final at the Rose Bowl in front of a 3018 crowd.

Our visitors made an encouraging start to life in the Premier Division winning three of their first five games. However, they have struggled for consistency over the course of the season with the increased demands of the Premier Division and the travelling back and forth. In November, they parted company with Manager Chris Bass and he was replaced by Head of Football Paul Jones.

After an horrendous run of eight defeats in nine games, the win coming at AVRO (1-0), The Ravens come into the game on the back of successive wins. A 4-1 home win over Irlam was followed by a 1-0 win at Ashton Athletic last weekend. The victories have lifted them seven points clear of the relegation places and they sit in 19th place, with 32 points from as many games and they will be looking to secure safety over the course of their last ten matches of which six are at home.

Heys, enter their last eleven games in good spirits with three wins in their last four games, the latest of which was the breath taking 3-2 victory over Congleton Town on Tuesday night. It’s a run that has all but secured a top half finish. They come into the game in seventh place with 54 points from 31 games and the aim will be to finish as high as possible to mark a season of progress.

The emergence of several young players in the second half of the season such as Rio Clegg, Regan Brown and Max Bardsley-Rowe has been exciting and they will be looking to consolidate their places and be part of the long term thinking of Managers Lee 0’Brien and James Hampson going forward. There is still much to play for in both camps on Saturday!
