A quick turnaround in fixtures sees Heys head to Ashton Athletic on Saturday in the NW Counties Premier Division.
It's only a fortnight ago that an injury time Adam Farrell goal gave Heys a 1-0 victory in a tight encounter at Adie Moran Park. It could well prove to be the case again tomorrow. Ashton are a team on the up. Only seven days before their visit to Prestwich they had lost by a single goal at League Leaders Vauxhall Motors and their performance at Heys belied a side that, at that point, propped up the table having not won a match.
Fast forward two weeks and Ashton are off the bottom and now have two wins to their credit following away victories at Lower Breck (1-0) and Barnoldswick Town (2-1).
They are sure to approach the game with confidence against a Heys side whose form has been indifferent in the past fortnight. A woeful showing in the home defeat to Winsford was followed a very good performance in beating AVRO last Saturday.
A much changed side went down to Charnock Richard in the Lancashire Trophy in midweek but it is likely that it will be a different looking line up that takes to the field at Brocstedes Park tomorrow as Heys look to establish themselves amongst the leading pack.
