Heys return to League action on Saturday as they travel to fourth placed Emley.
After Wednesday night’s bruising defeat to Bamber Bridge in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy semi-final this game in many ways is the ideal game for Heys to face.
With the aim of clinching one of the four promotion spots on offer, Heys are presented with an immediate target on which to focus.
Emley are presently ten points clear of Heys and have played a game less and although it is a big ask to close the gap, it is not impossible that Matt Barnes’ side could do just that on the Yorkshire side or AFC Liverpool or Shelley.
A positive result will be needed tomorrow to keep those hopes alive. Emley have seen their last four League matches postponed but prior to that were unbeaten in seven, which included a thrilling albeit goalless draw at Heys last month.
In the League, Heys have lost only once in their last eight games, since the turn of the year and will be boosted by the return of striker Reece Lyndon and Francesco Frangillo to the squad after a month’s absence.
A Coach will be leaving Adie Moran Park at 12.15pm, £10 return, first come, first served.
