Heys welcome Shelley to Adie Moran Park on Saturday for what is arguably their biggest game of the season so far. (3pm)
Over the past month, new Manager Matt Barnes has overseen a steady climb up the table as his side have taken 14 points from his seven games in charge.
Unbeaten in 2020, Heys sit fifth in the form table, a stat all the more impressive given the sides they have faced since the turn of the year are in the top six of that table. The only team they have not faced are the side that top it – Shelley.
Newcomers to the League this season, the Yorkshire side have hit an exhilarating run of form, winning eight of their last nine games. That run includes wins over Emley and Lower Breck. A talented side they possess one of the most prolific strikers in the division in Matthew Waller who has hit fourteen goals in fifteen games and won five Man of the Match awards.
Shelley occupy fourth spot – the last of the four promotion places on offer. Heys sit seven points behind them, with two games in hand. It’s a potentially pivotal moment in the season. Although there are fifteen games left, a defeat could open a gap that may be too much to make up. A win would put them right in the mix.
Two form teams going head to head, it promises to be quite an afternoon at Adie Moran Park
