UPDATED: Friday 15th December - A Coach will be leaving Adie Moran Park for the game, £15 return. Please be at the ground for 11.30am. Prospects for the game being on look good.
Heys will be hoping for a rapid improvement in the weather as they look to play their first League match for a month at Holker Old Boys on Saturday.
Since the 3-0 defeat at Cammell Laird on 18th November, Jon Lyons side have played just one game, the Macron Cup tie with Nelson. That game brought a fourth successive defeat in what has been a frustrating time with loss of form and the weather.
Heys position though in the League has not been too badly affected. Other sides have also had postponements whilst several of the leading pack have also suffered defeats during this period.
It is this weekend's hosts who have been one of the chief archtiects of those reverses. Holker are a team in form, with four wins in the last five games. Three of those victories have been against top five sides. A 2-1 win at AFC Blackpool has been sandwiched between home wins over Litherland (3-2) and 1-0 over Silsden. The Barrow team remain the only side to take points off the Leaders this season.
It's a far cry from earlier in the season when Holker lost seven of their first nine games, suffering some heavy defeats, includng a 5-0 defeat at Adie Moran Park.
It's that form though that Heys will be hoping to recapture this weekend to get their promotion challenge back on track. The lay off has given time for injuries to clear whilst new signings Ashley Stott, Michael Smith and Johnny Hurst will be hoping for long delayed debuts.
