Its Derby Day tomorrow as Heys welcome Bury to Adie Moran Park for a match that carries great importance for both clubs at the opposite ends of the table.
Heys revival continued on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win at West Didsbury & Chorlton. Since the turn of the year, they have won four of their six games to haul themselves out of the relegation zone after what seemed a perilous and almost impossible position at the bottom of the table.
They will be only too aware that tomorrow’s game marks another step up against the League leaders who have scored over 100 League goals this season.
Bury have been steady all season but, after a tricky spell around November, early December they have hit their stride with nineteen points from their last eight games to open up a three-point lead at the top. The one blot on that recent run was a 4-0 defeat at West Didsbury.
Heys will come up against a Bury side that includes former player Tyler James, but our former Captain and defensive rock Aaron Chalmers will be missing for them as he gets married tomorrow.
The two sides produced a fascinating game at Gigg Lane at the end of December which Bury won 5-2, although Heys were very much in the game until the last fifteen minutes.
Can Heys maintain their revival and shock their local rivals or will Bury press on at the top. It promises to be a fascinating afternoon.
The match is all ticket and is sold out.
