On Saturday, Heys return to Adie Moran Park, for another game against Merseyside opposition, in the shape of South Liverpool (3pm).
It will be a first ever visit to Prestwich for the visitors who were promoted to the Premier Division last season. After early struggles, which included a 3-0 home loss to Heys, they have made steady progress and will come into the game on the back of successive League wins against Colne and Barnoldswick which has seen them move to fourth from bottom of the table.
South Liverpool are fourteen points clear of Heys, having played a game more, and whilst they may not points wise, be in immediate range of Ryan Hutchinson’s side, the match is one they will be targeting as the Heys boss and his side look to get more points on the board.
The recent win over Squires Gate put Heys in a position where they could still escape relegation and although the loss at Lower Breck on Thursday night was a setback to those hopes the overall performance, against one of the strongest sides in the League, continued the pattern of encouraging and positive displays that suggest Heys can still stay up. They will be looking to turn that thought into points tomorrow.
