With six weeks to go to the new season the pitch at Adie Moran Park is looking in good shape.
Last summer extensive drainage work took place across the pitch but the long, hot Summer left little growing time.
However, further work during this close season, which included sand injection, allied to better growing conditions means the players will have a super playing surface on which to play.
In truth though it's the culmination of lots of hard work by the ground staff at the club, as Neil Sankey said "It has taken us many years to get the pitch into this great condition".
A huge thank you and well done to all the groundstaff at the club.
The first game on the pitch will be on Saturday 6th July, 3pm, when Atherton Collieries are the visitors in a pre-season friendly.
